According to Deborah Surgi , in a career spanning more than three decades, Moe Fritz of Keller ISD has led the Rockets to two state titles. This year, he was selected the district's coach of the year. Fritz, a five-time district coach of the year, has won four of his five championships. Fritz is a real winner, having won district and state titles in his first two seasons and been named district coach of the year five times. The AFCA has recognized sixteen coaches as district coaches of the year. In 2013, he was selected Carroll's district coach of the year. Trinity's Steve Mohr, North Dakota State's Ron Erhardt, and Bowie State's Kevin Kehres also received successive district accolades. In addition to Kehres, four additional coaches were selected district or regional coaches of the year. Each geographic division of the NFHS has its own championship.
